Who helps us

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it:

  • Framer hosts the website.
  • Viva.com processes card payments for donations.
  • Cloudflare runs the small service that connects our donation form to Viva.com.
  • Substack stores newsletter subscribers and sends the newsletter.
  • Tally hosts our survey forms.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on the site, so your browser connects to Google when a page loads.

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. Where data leaves the EEA, it is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete it.

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Donations: at least five years after the end of the financial year, as Greek accounting law (Law 4308/2014) requires, or longer where tax rules require it.
  • Emails: only as long as we need to deal with your message and any follow-up.
  • Survey: answers are anonymous, so they do not identify you.

Cookies

synerra.org does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Payment pages run by Viva.com and pages on Substack or Tally set their own cookies under their own policies.

If we add analytics tools that use cookies in the future, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

  • show you the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete your data, where we are not legally required to keep it;
  • limit how we use it, or object to how we use it;
  • give you a copy in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything done before.

Email info@synerra.org and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority at www.dpa.gr.

Children

Our newsletter, donations and survey are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
