Meet the board, part 1 of 4.
Lillian Georgopoulou, Chief Listings Officer at Euronext Athens.
An economist by training, Lillian spent 18 years in London across investment banking, trading and portfolio asset management. From 2013 her focus moved to how capital markets fund the transition to a low-carbon economy, and she led the initiative to launch a world-first sustainable market at the London Stock Exchange.
She now works with Greek listed companies on the same question, helping them move sustainability from a reporting exercise to something that drives long-term growth. She sees the greatest room for gain among Greek SMEs, where the fundamentals are still being built and progress can come quickly.
Coming back to Greece sharpened that view. A lot of the everyday groundwork, from recycling habits to climate education in schools, is still ahead of us. This is where the fastest wins are.
Also a performance-diploma pianist. 20 years since she last played, and a piano goes back in the house next year.
